BREWSTEAD SUPPLY / PRACTICAL GUIDES
Match coffee-filter format before buying refills
Separate paper size, shape, package count and brewer compatibility across the filter systems in this shop.
Start with the brewer reference
Find the exact brewer model and the filter specification in its instructions. A cup-count label describes a serving convention, not the shape of a filter basket. A paper can look large enough yet fail to seat properly. In this catalogue,No.2 and No.4 cone papers,V60 size 02,Wave 185 and Chemex bonded squares are deliberately separate systems. Similar numbers do not establish interchangeability.
Distinguish shape from the number in the package
V60 size 02 identifies a format. The reviewed VCF-02-100Mlisting separately says 100 papers. Wave 185 is a pleated format designation, not a count of 185 papers. ANo.2 label also does not mean two pieces. Keep a short comparison note with brewer reference, required paper system, selected variant and quantity supplied. That avoids choosing a refill simply because the title has a familiar number.
Read bonded-paper compatibility carefully
The reviewed Chemex CM-8A source names FP-1,FC-100,FS-100 and FSU-100 filters and says filters are not included with the brewer. The square-paper listing has broadall-Chemex wording, but that should not be treated as approval for every model, particularly a three-cup version. Match the current manufacturer's model guidance rather than selecting the broadest seller claim. Folding and seating are also part of using the correct paper, not something established by a package photograph alone.
Check whether the initial brewer package already includes filtration
The Stagg XF set lists thirty matching papers. The OXO single-serve brewer lists ten No.2 starter papers despite an inconsistent reusable-filter attribute. The Bodum carafe and Frontier camping brewer use listed reusable steel mesh instead. Those differences affect your first purchase and replenishment plan. A starter supply does not prove another brand's paper will fit, and a mesh filter does not inherit paper-care instructions.
Compare the practical consequences rather than promising flavor
Paper requires replenishment and disposal; a reusable mesh part needs cleaning and the right support. Their construction differs, but this guide does not claim that one guarantees a better-tasting cup. Keep the brewer stable, use the specified arrangement and follow its care instructions. If an exact source is unclear, leave compatibility unresolved rather than forcing a general cone paper into another named system.

Questions from this guide
Can V6002 papers replace ordinary No.2 cone filters?
No universal substitution is established. Match the brewer's named system and paper geometry.
Does Wave 185 mean a pack of 185?
No. It is a filter-format designation. Package quantity must be checked separately.
Do I always need paper with a pour-over brewer?
No. Some reviewed brewers include reusable mesh; others require format-specific paper. Choose according to the exact brewer.
Product examples refer to the reviewed selected variants. Check each product page for the selected contents, fit and any unresolved source differences. This guide does not substitute for the exact equipment's operating or chemical-cleaning instructions.
