The compact OXO Brew is an electric burr grinder aimed at a coffee corner where a larger hopper machine would take too much space. Its smaller format can be useful when you prepare a limited amount at a time or put equipment away between uses. Compare the amount you grind in one session with the selected version’s hopper capacity, rather than using a photograph to estimate volume. The ability to adjust the grind is useful, but it should not be confused with independent proof that every espresso basket or cold-brew recipe will be equally well served.
Measure the full working space, including room above the lid. Compact does not establish compatibility with a particular cabinet or brewing method.
For a useful comparison, start with the coffee you make most often, the size of a normal batch and how frequently you change beans. Adjust one part of the recipe at a time and keep a note of the dose and grind setting, rather than expecting a setting name to produce an identical cup across different grinders. Allow access for emptying and the cleaning method approved in the manual. Electrical models need the correct US supply; manual models still require the time and effort to turn the crank. We have not measured particle distribution, noise, speed or extraction performance for this product.
