A CLOSER LOOK
Where it fits in your routine
Urnex Cafiza powder is a maintenance consumable for a compatible espresso-machine cleaning procedure. The powder format can be relevant when the equipment’s instructions specify a measured cleaner rather than a pre-formed tablet. Do not treat the product name or general espresso positioning as approval for every water tank, internal circuit or component. The important comparison is with the actual cleaning guidance for your machine. Removing coffee residues and descaling mineral deposits are different jobs, so this should not be substituted for a descaler without explicit manufacturer approval. A machine or portafilter used as a visual prop is not part of the selected consumable.
Check that your machine permits this cleaner and the intended cleaning method. Oil-residue cleaning is not the same task as descaling mineral buildup.
Start with the equipment manual and identify the maintenance task before choosing a consumable or tool. Removing coffee oils, removing mineral scale, replacing a water filter and sweeping away dry grounds are different jobs, even when they appear together in search results. Use the dose, placement, cycle and rinse instructions approved for the exact machine; do not combine formulas or improvise a treatment from a product photograph. Store maintenance supplies according to their own labels and keep the package identification available for later reference. We have not tested cleaning performance or established compatibility beyond the clearly identified source and the limitations explained here.
