BREWSTEAD SUPPLY
Build a practical pour-over setup
A useful pour-over setup can be small. Choose the amount of coffee you normally make, then match the dripper and serving vessel to that routine. A large carafe is not necessarily more convenient if you only prepare one cup.
Choose your filtration
Paper and metal filters handle oils and fine particles differently. A permanent mesh filter is reusable but still needs cleaning; paper filters create an ongoing size and supply requirement. Check the filter format that belongs to the exact brewer.
Think beyond the kettle silhouette
A narrow gooseneck spout can make the water stream easier to direct. It does not mean the kettle has adjustable temperature, a thermometer or a hold function. Check the electrical rating, volume and stated controls on the US variant.
Measure a recipe you can repeat
A scale helps record coffee and water amounts. A timer helps record the process. Change one part of a recipe at a time instead of replacing several tools together. Grind, beans, water and technique all affect the cup; equipment alone cannot guarantee a taste result.
